Purpose of the Program
The purpose of this program is to equip students with foundational and applied knowledge to understand global migration and forced displacement, while emphasizing the positive contributions of refugees and migrants to host societies, especially in developed countries and their role in the reconstruction and development of their countries of origin.

Purpose of Program

Program Description
The Master of Arts in Refugee and Migration Studies is designed to prepare graduates for advanced leadership, research, and policy roles in addressing global migration and forced displacement. The program develops deep analytical understanding of migration systems, refugee protection frameworks, and the complex social, economic, and political factors shaping displacement worldwide.
A central purpose of the degree is to equip students to recognize and strengthen the positive contributions of refugees and migrants, including their roles in economic growth, innovation, cultural enrichment, and workforce development in host (often developed) countries, while also understanding how displaced populations contribute to the reconstruction and development of their countries of origin through remittances, skills transfer, entrepreneurship, and peacebuilding.
